“WLUSU’S Public Relations Committee Hosts Student Marketplace”

Waterloo, ON – Wilfrid Laurier’s Public Relations Committee will be promoting their signature event, the 2007 Student Marketplace, in the Hall of Fame on Oct. 16th and 23rd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Public Relations Committee is a communications arm of the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union, which not only aims to promote various events and activities put on by a variety of clubs and committees within the Student’s Union, but also organizes and executes their own events.  The Student Marketplace is a bi-annual event, taking place in the Concourse this fall on November 1st, 2007 and again in early spring!  It allows student entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses and sell their products right here at Laurier. Want to find out more? Drop by the Hall of Fame on the 16th or 23rd where members of the committee will be more than happy to answer all your questions.

Vendors interested in participating in the Student Marketplace are encouraged to fill out an application on the above dates at the Hall of Fame or online via www.wlusu.com/marketing/public. Student Marketplace is an excellent opportunity for students to publicize their unique products and talents, as well as showcase their abilities for FREE.

"Student Marketplace is an excellent opportunity for student entrepreneurs to gain exposure for their ventures.” says Public Relations Coordinator Jayne Thompson. “By holding the event in a high traffic, yet highly public area, vendors will be increasing their visibility in the Laurier community. Laurier students not participating in Student Marketplace will benefit from the unique products and services offered by their fellow students.”

Whether you’re a student entrepreneur waiting for the opportunity to share your talents with the Laurier student body or a student that supports the businesses of their fellow peers, Student Marketplace is sure to be an enjoyable experience! Non-vendors, be sure to bring your wallets and help to support the businesses of your peers on Nov. 1st! This event only takes place once per term, so you don’t want to miss it!
