Shawn Byfield to lead dance workshops

WATERLOO, Ont., January 30, 2007— Fashion 'n Motion will bring Shawn Byfield to lead two dance workshops at the Turret Thursday, February 8, 2007. The first will be a beginner Hip-Hop workshop and will run from 1-2pm, the second an intermediate Hip-Hop workshop run from 3-4pm. Each workshop will run for one hour in length and the cost will be $5 per workshop.

Shawn Byfield is known to instruct the most energetic Tap and Hip-Hop dance classes in Toronto. A native of the city, Byfield teaches, performs, and choreographs in Toronto, across Canada, and internationally. He holds over 23 years of experience, having trained and performed in the dance industry since the age of six. As a result of his dancing and acting talents, Byfield has been featured in numerous movies, commercials, and television shows.

“Fashion ‘n Motion wanted to give Laurier students an opportunity to experience a professional style dance workshop,” said Fashion ‘n Motion Co-ordinator Jessica Knowlton Bell. “Shawn graciously offered his time last year and we are excited to have him back for not only one but two workshops this year!”

This event is a fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes. Tickets will be available at the door the day of the event.
