Legal Municipal Resources Home
Legal Municipal Resources provides free, accurate and reliable information and referrals to the students of Laurier. We work with the Vice-President of the University Affairs Department on municipal issues and communicate Town and Gown issues and other community news to the students at Laurier.
Legal Municipal Resources is a free, essential service for all students who are looking to rent a house, have questions about landlords, roommates, subletting, and their legal rights. Our trained volunteers are happy to help you with any questions you might have in the field of law and we will do our best to help you out and set you in the right direction, priding ourselves in being professional and confidential.
We specialize in the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA), comprehensive information about law school and the LSAT, and various resources to help you with income taxes, utility contracts, etc. The volunteers at LMR strive to help all students in any way that we can; not only providing advice, but also raising awareness around campus and hosting different events that are fun, interesting, and informative. We supervise various campaigns about applying and going to law school, knowing your rights, etc.
This year we are expanding our service so that our volunteers are more knowledgeable various legal issues that affect students such as by-laws, etc.
