Academic Issues Commission
The Academic Issues Commission (AIC) is dedicated to:
-raising awareness of academic issues students may face during their university career,
-promoting a culture of academic integrity and positive student action,
-conducting research in order to secure for students a full understanding of key issues,
-making recommendations to both WLUSU and WLU Administration regarding both policy and campus attitudes towards these issues
Some areas the Academic Issues Commission takes special interest in include academic integrity; misconduct (plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, cheating); academic freedom of faculty and students; curriculum; evaluations of lecturers, tutorial instructors and lab instructors; grading and evaluation policies; and many others.
The AIC is made up of several committees that report to the Academic Issues Commissioner. Volunteers who are interested in conducting policy research, surveying student opinion and experience, or in raising awareness about academic integrity and other academic issues are needed for work on various committies within the AIC.
