Special Events
The Wilfrid Laurier Students’ Union is proud to present excellent service, fine food, and professional staff who will do the utmost to please you and your guests in every way possible. When you arrange an event through the Students’ Union in either of our locations, Wilf’s or the Turret, you can be assured of friendly personalized attention which gives us a reputation of service excellence.
We will work with you to put together a perfect package, whether it is for a meeting, reception, dinner, club night, pub night, or full service banquet. Our Catering Manager and Programming & Promotions Manager will be pleased to customize menus to suit your needs and your budget.
Room Reservations
If you would like to book The Turret or Wilf’s, please call (519) 884-0710 extension 3670 and we will be glad to book either for you..
Menu Selections
Your menu selections may be made from our list of menus. If you prefer menu choices that are not included here, please discuss your ideas with our staff who will be glad to create a menu to suit your needs. The menu should be decided and finalized at least seven (7) working days in advance.
**Note: Some restrictions may apply because of location and size of your group
Guarantee Numbers
A guaranteed number of guests must be established five (5) working days before the function date. We will accept guests over and above the guaranteed number if 48 hours notice is provided prior to the function. Our catering staff will normally provide seating and food for approximately 5% (max 50 people) above the latest guaranteed number but not exceeding room capacity. You will be financially responsible for the guaranteed number, or the actual number of persons served, whichever is greater.
Bar Services
If your special occasion requires bar services, we maintain a good selection of wine, liquor, and beer, and are pleased to make recommendations which will compliment your menu selections. We are also glad to special order any specific alcohol that your require. Bar services are solely the responsibilities of Wilfrid Laurier Student’s Union, and may not be run by any other party.
Audio-Visual Services
Any audio visual support that you require can be provided by us or by our technical support group. From big screen to surround sound to data projection to dramatic lightning, we can create the atmosphere for your event.
Invoicing
For all University groups using the internal system, you will be required to provide us with the designated university account number at the time of booking the function. For all non-university groups, full or partial payment may be requested five working days before your event. Any remaining balance will be required on the day of the event.
Gratuities
A 10% gratuity will be added to the pre-tax total of your bill. This total includes food and liquor only. It does not include rentals or any other incidentals
Audio / Visual
As with all of our services your audio/visual needs can be customized to your specifications. We are well suited for most of your needs from high quality sound systems to the best in projection. Both of our facilities can provide surround sound as well as video surround for maximizing the experience from any vantage point.
