The Academic Issues Committee and WLUSU congratulate Laurie Sadowski for her winning entry in the WLUSU Essay Contest. The question that was posed was:

"Wilfrid Laurier University has a history of high volunteerism in comparison to other universities across Canada. Put forward a theory that explains why the volunteer culture within Laurier has been so successful."

Laurie wins $750 and her entry will be published in the March 16th edition of the Cord Weekly. Congratulations are also extended to Alyson Cranshaw and Fraser King for placing 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
