What is the Student's Union?

Dear First Year Students,

Welcome to Laurier on behalf of the Management Committee of the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union! We are very proud to have you join us at this great school and we hope that you are as excited as we are for the upcoming start of the year and Orientation Week.

The Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union, or WLUSU as you’ll hear it referred to, is the representative body for undergraduate students here at Laurier. As a new undergraduate student, you are automatically a member of our organization. The Management Committee is a group of student executives who are working to administer this $12 million dollar company to ensure that we fulfill our mandate of “Providing for the Needs of Students.”

We encourage each and every one of you to take a good look at the many opportunities that

WLUSU has to offer. WLUSU has over 1,500 volunteers over 36 different committees and 7 different departments. We also provide over 300 part-time employment opportunities in one of our many business

operations. The Center Spot retail store, Wilf’s Restaurant and Bar, The Turret Nightclub and the franchises of The Terrace Food Court are all owned by the Students’ Union and we encourage you enjoy their

services!

might have or just share a bit about Laurier and hear what you’re excited for!
